Sousa enthusiasts can get their march on at Grossmont Union High School District's Marching Band and Color Guard District Fall Showcase. The event will step off at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Helix Charter High School.
Bands from all 11 schools in the district will perform individually, then mass for the grand finale on the field. Superintendent Ralf Swenson will serve as guest director.
The SDSU Marching Aztecs will also perform.
Advance tickets are $10 and can be ordered through high school band members or by visiting www.helixinstrumental.org and going to "GUHSD District Fall Showcase." The proceeds of tickets will directly benefit school band programs.
The general admission fee for tournament guests is $10.00. Active military and veterans FREE (with ID). Students 8th grade and under FREE when accompanied by a paying adult.
